The only thing that has been cool about the TEMPORARY decline of Halo is that the Pro's and Personalities have been a lot more accessible compared to other years. I've been hanging out in ElamiteWarrior (2008 National Champ BTW) stream/chat for a while now and I would say we have become....."E-Homies" at this point. Which is kind of bananas because as a younger lad I used to watch and study VOD of this guy back when he played on The Agency, Str8 Rippin, Instinct, and that really entertaining Warriors Roster in Halo Reach. Only problem is though I love the guy, he would plays some wack ass games. Rainbow Six Siege? Come on. You are not getting me on a game where I feel like I'm about to get melted by 4 peeping toms posted up on bullet holes in the walls....nah not for me. However recently he came to his senses and started playing Rocket League. I popped in to his chat just in time for him to ask me if I wanted to game. Of course, being the ambassador of Rocket League I accepted. Bonus! Dersky was there too (also Former Halo Pro turned Halo Producer). They asked me what rank I was and I told them I JUST got Champ 2. Obviously both of them were super new to the game and had NO IDEA what Champ 2 meant. Boy, did they learn. We lost EVERYTHING, I deranked A LOT, but it was so fucking worth it. I had a blast hanging out with these two dudes. They treated me like I knew them for years. Thanks Sean and Kyle for the games let us hope that there is a part TWO to this. Maybe I'll take these two former Halo Pros, tuck them under my wings and teach them to be Rocket League GODS.....that's CONTENT.

I know I'm late to the show, but hell I just survived a mega snow storm, work, last second Christmas shopping, and of course carrying Lezer0 with my commentary skills in this past ASAP Weekly monthly showdown. But here we are LIKE I SAID we would be. Today I rank the NA RLCS Skins that can be found in the item shop. Let's cut to the chase let's go! 10) ENVY- This may be some serious disrespect and the disrespect is not coming from me putting NV here, but from whoever decided to give the best team in the WORLD the worst car design probably in the game. Can I get a RIP in the chat? 9) NRG- I need answers, how can the best and SECOND best team in the world have such ass skins? It was really hard trying to figure out who had a worse skin between NV and NRG. And the ONLY this skin sneaks past the NV skin is the fact that the NRG skin has a better..."textured" look to it. Other than that...it's bland as fuck. 8) Ghost Gaming- I know what you're thinking why is this skin better than the NRG skin? Well my loyal minion, the word "Gang" is on the car thus, its a more hardcore decal. NEXT! 7) Soniqs- A very simple design, but the color combo seems like it was given some thought which is why it sits pretty at our seventh spot. 6) G2- Just missing the top 5 is G2. I feel like I got to be honest, I think that the fact that I have seen this skin for SO long is probably why it ranks so low. I might be bored of it. Keep in mind, it's not a bad skin, it's just bad on the Octane. 5) SSG- Orbiting the 5 spot (nailed that joke) is SSG. I think the color scheme and the slight sprinkes on stars gives this skin some soul. 4) Alpine- For making a petting zoo animal look this clean we got to give Alpine the 4th spot. What else can we say. 3) Rogue- I think this is hypocritical of my take with the G2 skin. If I'm not mistaken, I think the Rogue skin has been out for the same, or close to the same amount of time, but this skin has not gotten old at all. This thing look godlike specifically when up, soaring, flying, and dunking on it's victims. 2) Eunited- Stroking my Patriotism I see. I mean come on this is just FIRE. 1) Knights- The Knights may have been quiet the last few RLCS events, but the skin is FAR from quiet. I love this skin. It gives me old school Voltron vibes. Without a doubt the best skin in NA. The Black and Gold just slaps your eyeballs to death, and yes that's a fantastic complement.
The latest update for Rocket League IS OUT! The game itself hasn't changed. Rocket League is still that game that shit down solo-q players throats, but hey, that's the wall we keep smashing our heads against. Other then the typical battle pass stuff Rocket League HAS FINALLY turned The Esports Shop into a real shop. No more hoping that your favorite teams skin is available and for more then two days so you can scramble five bucks together before that NRG skin disappears for GOD KNOWS how long. Now you can select your favorite teams and throw cash at them WHENEVER you want. I was obviously tasked (by myself) to give the power rankings of these skins specifically the Octane skins available in the EU region and of course the next blog with be the same thing, but for NA. I plan to use my power rankings to seed these skins and put them in a bracket and have all of YOU vote on twitter to see who wins the Skin of the People Award! Let my genius BEGIN! 8) Guild- By far the worst skin available in EU. We all know that the EU region is currently a mess, but damn this skin is a visual representation of the chaos that is happening in that scene. This skin needs a redo, a mulligan, and most importantly the "Old Yeller Treatment". 7) Dignitas- Not going to lie, this feels disrespectful putting such a historic and successful organization in such a shit rank. I just feel like this skin is generic. It needs more spunk, more pop if you will. I will say the logo is tough to do anything with in regards to making it look "cool" on a car. 6) Liquid- Clean and safe. Like a condom commercial. No risk was taken with this Liquid skin. If you are a die-hard Liquid fan I'm sure you would purchase this thing. I need POP damn it! 5) Solary- I mean what the hell am I supposed to say this. Descent design. The color scheme really saved it here to be 100% honest. 4) Oxygen- Well would you look at me being unbiased as fuck. A New England based company, I am from New England, right smack in the middle of the pack. I do really like the science/chemistry theme of this design. It must make a designers life so much easier when you can get creative with a logo. 3) Vitality- I will admit a part of me thinks this skin shouldn't be this high up the ranks. The other part of me says this is how you do simple very well. This design makes me feel like I would get 25% more demo's. 2) Endpoint- What a CLEAN look. You get my juices flowing when you get a nice fade to purple. And that white background does things to me. 1) BDS- The Pink and Blue gives me super what 90's kids thought the future would look like vibes. The whole thing looks great. Simple in the front, but tons of detail in the back. I am not a BDS fan, but I'm buying this thing.
DrLupo came out a couple days ago and spilled his guts on stream talking about how chat is killing his passion for streaming. I'm not an idiot, HIS numbers are 1000 times more than I could imagine getting, but as a 10+ year streamer I do experience a lot of the things he complains about in his (for a lack of a better word) rant. The big difference between the way I run a stream and how Dr. Lupo runs a stream is that I kind of embrace trolls in my chat AS LONG AS THEY DON'T CROSS A LINE. A lot of my best content is reading a really harsh/funny comment in chat and reacting to it, either by using my giant God given brain to snap back or just wear the defeat on my face. I really encourage creativity even from my chat. Compliments, insults, or anything in-between, If its funny or creative I am very likely to read it on stream. And for some streamers that don't have that mental shield the chat can be pretty damaging to them. I do have empathy for these streamer, BUT I must stress that any content creator should know going into it that the internet is tough if you hyper focus on the "hate". SO if you are aware that you may not be able to handle it, MAYBE you shouldn't dabble in this field. DrLupo said something very important that I hope many of you other content creators realize. The "shitters" are only 10% of the interactions he has. I agree with this 100000% Twitch, in my opinion, is ALOT like the WORLD we live in. 90% of people are just chilling, watching your stream, living their lives, maybe chatting here and there. And the other 10% are people screaming, being toxic, obnoxious, making it about THEM. Each streamers handles things differently. Is DrLupo Soft? I don't think so, I think he had a moment of being human and had to get this off his chest. My only worry is that during this rant he mentioned a lot of things that "trigger" him and that's a big no-no in the internet world. Telling the world what triggers you is like giving a troll a line of cocaine. |
