Marriage is the eternal linking of two souls...or more if you're into that kind of stuff (I don't judge). Marriage is loving each other no matter what obstacles headbutt your lives together. Marriage is loving your wife even when she holds your delicious food hostage because she doesn't want to be one of the first people to walk into a restaurant once they open. That last point was oddly specific I know. Let me explain. Some time last week I took my wife to drop off her car to get some repairs. Since we were already out and a new restaurant we have been eyeing FINALLY opened I said "hey, I have a (as always) great idea. We should go eat at that new place down the street." My wife enthusiastically says "Let's do it." while also reminding me how much I look like Ryan Reynolds. I obviously thanked her for such a compliment and make our way to dinner. I will add that it was a "early dinner" you know, like 4pm. I pull into the place that housed my soon-to-be delicious burger at 4:02. The parking lot was empty, but nonetheless, I unbuckle my seatbelt and get my fat ass prepared to eat. Mid reach for the car door my wife tells me we can't be the first people in there because it would be awkward. We waited. Waited a bit more. Thankfully after a few more minutes of waiting The Golden Girls decided to slowly break the ice and enter the building. At that moment, my wife dug deep and found the courage to be the SECOND PARTY to be seated at this restaurant for the day.
