Being an OpTic fan sucks right now. I'm tired of seeing the face of Call of Duty, disheveled, confused, lost, and aggravated. Losses happen EVEN to the best teams, especially in a franchised league where even the lower seeded teams have the ability to upset a much higher ranked team. With that said...OpTic has lost 2 matches in a row (Rokkr and now Mutineers)....and at a diabolical map count of 0-6. Swept twice! I'm NOT like twitter, I don't think any roster moves need to happen right now. As someone who has been doing this shit since 2004 I can tell you that OpTic's misfortunes is not a ONE person problem. As great as Scump is, the ego challenging....EVERYTIME is costing him valuable lives. I'm not saying NEVER jump back out and dunk on someone, but IF I was in a gunfight with Scump and I don't kill him in the initial gunfight, I'd just hold the same angle, most likely he's going to jump back at me. NOW, if he switches up the challenging and starts playing mind games with his opponents this could literally revitalize his play. Formal, my Halo brethren, the KRIG is not a sub. The chasing after sub players up close is just too risky STOP IT. Dashy, in the long distant future you will go down as one of the best to ever play this game, but when you have a dog shit series (which is going to happen to anyone) you look as if you allow it to haunt you for the next two series. Learn to take those L's, convince yourself that shit was a fluke and get back to clapping cheeks. Envoy, you have to be the leader of this squad the times we got to listen into this squad you were giving great call outs, but when the shit hits the fan YOU have to remind the boys to regain, keep composure, and remind them that they're the best in the mother fucking game. WE BOUNCE BACK BOYS. BRICK BY BRICK AND ALL THAT SHIT!

On Thursday in a very "I'm a hostage" style video, Rizzo announced that he will be stepping away from the RLCS and focus on the content side of things. I was suspecting an announcement like this because let's be real, G2 hasn't been what they used to be and it just makes so much sense for Rizzo. Stand in his shoes for a second. You are streaming to THOUSANDS of people, LOADS of subscribers, making pretty decent money, but now you are obligated to stop the stream and scrim/practice with a team that is underperforming. It's the dream he is living now. Yes, it does sound that he is still under the G2 banner and will be moving forward, but he controls his own destiny. Rizzo can make any game very entertaining. ANY GAME. That means he can now steer away from Rocket League, and dabble with other stuff. And as a PURELY Rocket League streamer, being able to switch games AND still be able to hold 70% of your original audience is HUGE. Good Luck Rizzo you SMART BASTARD.
On the latest episode of the ASAPWeekly Rocket League podcast (found where ever you get your podcasts) FlashForce was featured to give his take on the content creating world of the Rocket League scene. I'm not going to lie, I've known of FlashForce for a handful of years, initially, I thought he was a twitter bot because he used to "like" basically every one of my tweets that featured the Rocket League hashtag. I know my tweets are F-I-R-E, but during this time I was a little suspicious. However, after further review HE'S A REAL PERSON, and pretty entertaining streamer as well so give him some love. FlashForce in this interview brought up some interesting points about his experience on all things content creating. I found myself agreeing with a lot of what he said in this interview especially when he brought up raiding other streamers. I have been lucky enough to finally start averaging double digit viewers and I do enjoy helping out a random Rocket League streamer with a little Dopamine hit and it's also a slight flex on my part. What I did notice is nine out of ten times I'd raid someone, and my viewers will dip on them. Even as an egomaniac I do feel bad for these people. You get raided, you see the viewer count go to fifteen, and twenty seconds later you're back to three. FlashForce brought up the point that raiding someone who runs a similar stream as you would probably fix this problem. I never thought of it that way, but he's right. I have a VERY VERY specific streaming style and it's hard to match what I do, it's hard to match Fucking GREATNESS!
FlashForce also brought up how hard it is for people to network or get exposure from the BIGGER names out there. He compared the way things are to basically cliques or "islands" where the bigger content creators are not as open to allowing newer people onto their island. This is probably the only time in the entire one hour interview where I 100% disagree with him. Twitch and streaming in general is a TALENT based career path. YOU are in charge of your own destiny in this line of work. YOU need to be ENTERTAINING enough to hold peoples attention, and YOU need to make it worth it for them to invest in your brand. I do not feel the "big guys" owe us smaller streamers a god damn thing. YOU have to WORK to get their attention. If JonSandman or even FlashForce asked to play Rocket League and create some GOOD content with me I would be very grateful and would totally do it. At no POINT during such a collaboration would I feel like I was...for a lack of better words... BORN with this right to work with such talented people, I'd feel like I probably worked hard enough (and with a dash of luck) to have found a way to gain their interest in working with me. Remember, it's easy as fuck to buy a pc, some cool-ass LED lights, a microphone, and hit the "Start Streaming" button. Millions or people do it EVERY FUCKING DAY. YOU have to find a way to stand out from the rest and entertain people. Get that BREAD! By the way FlashForce....that collaboration offer still stands.
