That's right you peasants Bad Manners has an official stream team. "What the hell is a stream team?" you may be asking, well it's a way for me to get you to work for Bad Manners FOR FREE muhahaha. In all seriousness, when I was starting streaming, I joined a handful of networks and they all had one thing in common. They all sucked. They promised promotion via social media, they promised cross pollination of others in-network streamers, they promised growth. All the while pushing me to stream 4+ hours a day...EVERYDAY. I feel we can do better. I believe if you are an average joe that likes to stream AND a fan of this brand and what it represents this may be the place to call home. Let us help you, while you most certainly help us. We are still a very small brand, but all it takes is three streamers to support each other, then another three to support each other, then another three, and soon enough we have a fucking empire in the streaming game. No contracts. No stress. You don't like it or you're not seeing what you want to see, just stop and do your own thing. Psst it's all ok.
The ONLY REQUIRMENTS to apply are as followed: 1) Must have an active/semi active stream (couple streams a month AT LEAST, obviously shit happens) 2) 300+ followers. 3) Not a complete piece of shit If you are interested, please DIRECTLY reach out to me on Twitter (@Nicktacular)...or Discord. Which transitions PERFECTLY into the next announcement.... we just started a Public Discord! Join in the mother fucking fun baby! I don't need to explain the chaos of greatness that this discord will behold. I do suggest being 18+ BUT we don't age shame.

Background for you all, maybe a month ago now ESL announced a $500,000 womens only league for CSGO. Semmler, after this news was announced posted a cheeky, yet valid point. "Where are the men's only tournaments?" Psst. For those who are missing the punchline.... there is NO SUCH THING AS A MENS ONLY LEAGUE. Twitter lost its mind, like a full-blown meltdown. People tossed all common sense and logic out the door and casted Semmler and Thorin (who later came to defend Semmler's statement) as the villains. Interestingly enough, these "villains" were the only ones to have good points, examples, and a shit ton of experience to go along with what they were saying. Meanwhile, the other side of the argument did the twitter thing and just called them misogynist, privileged white men aka THE YE OLDE CLASSIC. After a couple days of Twitter absurdity, things settled down. UNTIL NOW BABY! Semmler posted today on YouTube of a very good discussion with female competitors Goosebreeder and Vilga. Before I get into this, shout out to them. We live in a time where no one wants to have a discussion, so to see people who at its core disagree and are willing to go on video and TALK is a breath of fresh air. Thank you, ladies. From the get-go of this discussion the victim card was being played, which in turn, was playing right into Semmler's point that the "Women in Esports" isn't really the issue they want to fix. The true issue they want to fix without knowing it is "Gaming culture/toxicity towards women". I personally don't have much pity for this concept. You might get me to bend on the fact that women probably experience toxicity much faster than men in the average match. Despite this, I think everyone experiences toxicity. When I'm playing a bad ranked match whether it be Halo, CS, COD, or whatever it may be, people are going to be assholes and they are going to let you know. They can say whatever they want to me because, well, I like freedom of speech and most importantly, I don't care. Most games have mute buttons if it gets to that point. Clearly when shit continues after the match you are now dipping into actual harassment. The shit talking and toxicity kind of inspires me to get better. I'm weird like that, but I would actually say half of the reason I got "good" at Halo was because I teamed in my early days with dickheads that were better than me. Over time I got better then said dickheads, got on an even better team, and started smoking my previous dickhead teammates. It's all about how YOU handle the shit. Use it to mold you or break you. If you think it's going to break you, I suggest you use the mute button OFTEN. Now to tackle the actual topic of women in esports which Thorin made a great video on this topic maybe 5 years ago. Pretty early in the video he says Esports is probably one of the most biologically neutral competitions out there. It's not like most traditional sports were men's biology literally puts women at a disadvantage to the point we have to separate the genders and give each its own league (i.e., NBA and the WNBA). So why start doing that to esports? As a pretty hardcore capitalist, if I was a team owner and Debra is shitting on Simple consistently in FPL or what have you, guess what? Debra here is a GIANT CHECK let's win some major's baby! The problem isn't women can't be good enough it comes down to statistics. In a blog I wrote a long ass time ago, I used this example. If you dump 200,000 blue marbles (represents men competing) into a bucket and in that same bucket you dump 5,000 pink marbles (represents women competing) in that same bucket, mix them all up, and now store that visual in your head for a moment. I personally believe a person with the talent and drive to get to a tier one level in any esport is extremely fucking rare. With that said, back to that bucket, with those 205,000 marbles all mixed up, blindly pick out 15 marbles from the bucket. Those 15 marbles you picked represent the tier one caliber players. I bet you're going to seeing more blue marbles than pink.
This topic can go on forever and there are more points to be made, but this is just a simple blog from a boomer asshole who is now tired of typing so I'm going to try to wrap this shit up. In all seriousness I really don't care what businesses do with their money, but let's use our brains here. If a tier one female talent existed, they'd be on the stage with the rest of the tier one talent. If you want women playing against the Simple's, the Niko's, the Zywoo's, then we got to get more woman to want to compete. Thinking that plucking the ladies from playing against the better talent pool just because that talent pool CURRENTLY is all men is actually going to hurt them in the long run. With Royal 2 continuing his suspension Formal is back at it with the Sentinel boys for this week's HCS Pro series. After defeating SSG in the first round of uppers they unfortunately met a God tier Cloud 9. It takes some serious Halo to beat C9 right now, so I don't blame them for holding that L. However, to get tucked and sent home by Pioneers in losers should get the squad a bit nervous regardless of the fact that Formal is standing in. From my expert eye, the core Sentinel players (Lethul, Frosty, Snakebite) seem to be in a rough state. I am torn though, because I can't figure out if the core three are still playing as if Royal 2 is their forth OR if they don't know how to use the power weapon that is Formal. The two players are both high tier players but have different styles of thinking for the game. Formal is either hard slaying OR he is playing an aggressive, info/support role. He does not play his life as well or as much as Royal 2. Formal will take on 2 opponents if in his mind he can put 2 or 3 shots on each of them before he dies. Royal 2 will put less shots on those 2 players and dip out with his life. Formal is more of a BIG picture player and Royal 2 is a master at individual fundamentals. I'm not sure what Formal's plans are after his stint with Sentinels, but if a team is going to try and succeed with him, they need to recognize that Formal is the plow and everyone else just needs to come in and finish what he starts. All in all, I am certain when Royal 2 returns, and with time Sentinels will find a way to get back on top. I pray.
I knew once Halo came to PC that hacking would be a thing. Not that it took a ton of brains to figure that out, but I was shocked to realized that when I downloaded Halo Infinite that there was no TOS for some sort of anti-cheat. I have encountered only one blatant cheater in my 130+ hours of Halo Infinite. Either I'm lucky or I'm clueless. And I HIGHY DOUBT with my experience in Halo (15+ years) that I'm clueless. Regardless we need an anti-cheat. Do I think an anti-cheat will stop every hacker? Hell NO, but I believe it will make them less prominent as Twitter has led me to believe the hacking problem is. That's the brightside of consoles (can't believe I just wrote that) it is MUCH HARDER to get hacks on a console. With that said, I think people playing and posting VODS of "Hackers" are probably batting 50 percent at best. Recently, Pioneers player Druk, posted a couple clips showing the perspective of alleged hacker Minds. The first clip was far from a damning. What Minds did in the first clip could be explained as just timing. Looking purple during that time made sense. And the pre-fire happens to me ALOT. Not sure how to fix it, but the trigger sensitivity in this game is NUTS. I'll be going for a flank and randomly I push slightly too hard on the trigger, fire a burst, now the opponents I was just about to get the jump on are now all up on my ass. To Druk's credit his second clip he tweeted is a whole other story when it comes to how suspicious it is and is most certainly the clip he should of really stood behind. I get in a court of law this clip could get played off by sheer coincidence a lot like what I said about the first clip, but damn to track a guy behind the wall who's not just running, but SLIDING, then realizing "shit, that looked like I was hacking, let me shoot randomly to make it look like I was just pre-firing EVERYTHING this whole time" is bananas.
I was hoping to write something a little more hyped, you know, this blog being the first blog of 2022. Also the first blog after a couple month hiatus. So to avoid a drawn out intro...we back...Bad Manners Esports is back. This year is going to be a fiesta of greatness. Now to talk about Halo 5 players. If you have been living off the grid for some time, growing a sick beard, and talking to a bloody ball named after the brand that created it, then you probably don't know that a godlike Halo game has been out. Halo Infinite has been nothing but incredible from a gameplay perspective. I am hooked, I am addicted, I always want more. My stream has literally become Halo Infinite (sorry rocket league). I have no damn time to compete in this game, but I want to anyways.... will I? Probably not. Regardless, I love the game. The community as a whole loves the game as well. I will openly say that the game does lack some features, but the features we want are easily (over time) updateable. They'll come. It's a "10 year game" for God sakes let's use our brain. However...using your brain is not a thing Twitter does well and out of the clouds a handful of Halo 5 players started tweeting about how Halo Infinite is bad and blah blah blah. Which is an opinion I guess people have and that's totally fine. What I would say is not fine is the small minded fool that uses the simple cliche of "If you like game B it MUST mean you are obviously terrible at game A." Let me respectfully say... what a dumb fucking take. I was nasty at Halo 5, enjoyed my time playing the game. Halo Infinite it not H5, I personally think Halo Infinite is the perfect blend of what I love from the past games and newer games. Which in turn, in my opinion, makes Halo Infinite a superior game. ALSO, where the fuck were these guys when I was literally one of the handful of people streaming and making content for it back in 2016/2017? Where were you guys when nobody was playing H5 and lost support from the HCS? I will admit, it felt as if 343 stop caring for the game in the middle of its lifespan, but if it's a game you love so much then where were you to give 343 a reason to not neglect it. You want to play Halo 5? Do it, nothing is stopping you. Rebuild that scene. If you guys think you got a better game it should be easy. We saw the rise of Melee could this be the resurgence of Halo 5? Spoiler. FUCK NO. |
