Rocket League is not the same anymore. All of the smurfs NOW have no reason to smurf. The algorithm now has no reason to exist. Yesterday, Pawn, in an EXPLOSIVE exchange on the Bad Manners Esports Discord (Join NOW https://discord.gg/FNs9RqV6Zj) announced that he is DONE with THE pride and joy of his life...Rocket League. I can't believe it. The guy is one of the single most dedicated people have I have ever seen on any game. As much as he makes me want to dabble with the art of self-hate when I play with him, he has created COUNTLESS memorable moments in my time with Rocket League. Many of those moments are even hilariously documented. Pawn, Rocket League will not be the same game now you are no longer in it. Who is going to not just miss the open net, but whiff on the ball entirely for that open net? That's you Pawn. Who is going to blame their losses on a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy where Psyonix is only giving Pawn opponents that are SSL level smurfs in his Diamond matches? That's you Pawn. Who's going to hypocritically ask me to make a smurf so I can help you get out of your slump? Once again, that's you Pawn. I hope you enjoy your short retirement because we all know you have no self-control. You are going to stare long and hard at the controller. You'll be thinking how neglected that thing is and how wrong it would be for you to just let it sit there collecting dust. You'll be back. Besides, I saw you on Rocket League the other night. Sure, I guess this is the part where I say, "good luck with your future endeavors". I'm not going to say that. I'm going to close this blog with...PAWN YOU'RE BEING A LITTLE BABY BACK BITCH GET BACK ON THE GAME!

We'll according to Twitter JasonR does not seem to like the ladies all too much. And also according to Twitter this makes him a misogynist. I remember back in the day Ninja refused to play with women WHICH was a known THING and he was pretty public about it as well. The reasoning was Ninja wanted to avoid rumors, accusations of "flirting", and possible harassment. "Harassment" you may ask? Well, harassment is tough because what seems like a joke to one person may be interpreted as harassment to another. And let's be real, in the Twitter world, we treat harassment claims differently depending on what gender the alleged victim is. I understand why Ninja did what he did. I personally wouldn't do it, but as I say in way too many of these kinds of blogs, you run your brand the way you want to run your brand. I just find it odd that Twitter AUTOMATICALLY goes to someone being a misogynist without asking question. Maybe JasonR is taking the same road as Ninja did, maybe JasonR's wife does not want him talking to other women (which I highly doubt), maybe he is just avoiding "temptations" (which I also very doubt). I think Twitter likes to just take behaviors of a person and make the easiest assumption based off those behaviors. Maybe we should ask questions before we make pretty damning claims on people's character. Hell, maybe we ask him the questions and he says "it's because I'm a misogynist." And then with that information you can go ahead and try to burn down his brand if that's the road your moral GPS takes you. Gametime has been one of my babies...even though I have had ZERO to do with it. Getting involved in Gametime OR getting into the gaming space under the Barstool umbrella has been my goal for the last three years. Gametime/Barstool is 100% why this website exists. Sadly, I have been pretty unsatisfied by what I have been seeing from Gametime and wrote a GODLIKE blog back in September (click "September 2021" to find that blog) about the shit I have been SEEING. I was even NICE enough to use my giant brain and my charitable heart and sprinkled some FREE tips on the blog that I thought would help get things rolling a bit better. Looks like Gametime is not listening. Why would they? I'm only the single god damn answer to the Barstool x Esports x Gaming problem. And on top of these problems the face of Gametime (Smitty) is being neglected and pretty much forced out of the brand as well? Come on. It's honestly time to bring in another gaming brand to Barstool Sports. It's time for a Rival gaming brand in the SAME fucking house. It's time for BAD MANNERS ESPORTS...Presented by Barstool. Let me (Nicktacular), General Smitty, and CBS run a gaming channel that's more focused on the esports/competitive side of things. I'm sure the guys at Gametime are trying and they are working hard, but it just doesn't feel like Barstool. It feels very cookie cutter. I feel like the personalities that stream for Gametime don't stand out, or try anything different, but that's where WE COME IN. WE General Smitty need to give gaming that Milton Tough treatment. WE General Smitty need to give the people what they want, what they crave! WE GENERAL SMITTY need to get together and form the single greatest gaming brand since OpTic Gaming. BUT FIRST, YOU need to make the move and DM me (@Nicktacular). WE ALL knew at some point this was going to happen. Formal is now officially on the Optic Halo team. Why do I not feel as hyped as I thought I would be? Maybe it's because the swap comes after an event that OpTic looked better than they have ever looked so far in Halo Infinite. 2nd is better than 5th-6th....right? I get it, Hecz and the boys want a win, and they feel by dropping Pistola for Formal puts them in a position to do that. My issue is Formal and Pistola are the same player. They both NEVER check the scoreboard, play hard, keep their head down, and have a "do what wins" attitude. You show me both POV's without their names attached the to the gameplay, it would be really hard to decipher which POV is who's. I will say if Pistola plays at a speed of 8 out of 10, Formal, plays at a 8.7 out of 10. That's it. That's the only difference...gameplay wise. However, on the ye olde Twitter, Formal has more than 800,000 followers than Pistola. WOAH. Am I saying this move was to help grow the team on a social media/popularity sense? Maybe...maybe not, but Hecz is a smart businessman. If he can swap a player that won't DRASTICALLY hurt the team, yet comes with a shit ton of fans the move makes sense. Let's be real Formal is not going to hurt this team. I just hope that this moves gets OpTic over that hump and can go back to winning EVERYTHING again. Pistola vs OpTic will be delectable.
I'm a Logistics Manager for a "high end" clothing company. Along with that I'm streaming every other day, making videos, running and promoting this website. I live a very "what is sleep" kind of life. I picked this life. I love it. However, I've been a little bitch internally lately about "being overwhelmed" and "stressed" about all the "things on my plate". There is a very good reason for me putting those words/phrases in quotations. So please follow along and maybe you'll start putting your problems in quotations.
A couple days ago, was Valentine's Day, I worked that morning, before the sun even thinks about peeking over this hemisphere. The usual. I oversee about a crew of 12 people. 90% of them have terrible work ethic, rude, too old to be this immature, always late, unreliable, and lazy. Luckily, I have one worker who comes in on time, works her ass off, makes the job fun, smart, kind, and generous. She is someone that this world needs to model themselves after. She is also pretty quiet so when she asked to speak to me privately, I was caught a little off guard. I thought "shit, she's putting in here two weeks. No problem. I'll give her THE BRINKS TRUCK to stay". My daydreaming was interrupted by the eyes that looked across the table and locked into my soul. Those eyes were full of sadness, confusion, and what will stick with me for the rest of my life, dread. She stated that she was unsure to how long she would be working with us do to a health issue. She told me that she passed out at home a few days earlier, was brought to the hospital, an MRI was taken, and a tumor in her brain was discovered. I'm not sure how you take that information. Especially at such a young age. I'm not sure how you even come to work. I'm not sure how you even have the drive to get out of bed. She somehow does all of those things. She's a stronger person than I. It makes you realize that a lot of the shit we attach stress to normally doesn't deserve that kind of focus or care. Like the other day, I left my debit card at a restaurant. I was so pissed at myself. All I could think about is my damn card. I was lucky enough to get a call from that restaurant and they told me that they had my card, it was in a safe place, and I could grab it after work. In the grand scheme of things, it didn't deserve the amount of stress I was giving it. If they didn't have my card, I would simply call my bank, cancel that card, and get a new one. It would be a real inconvenience. AND THAT'S IT. I've learned these last couple days that WE get so stressed out about things that aren't ACTUAL PROBLEMS, but inconveniences. Oh shit, that picture you took for Facebook/Instagram didn't get as many "likes" as you wanted? You didn't get the newest pair of Yeezy's? You don't have 100,00 followers on YouTube? Get a fucking clue! Life is too damn fragile, too damn short, too damn uncertain for such nonsense. Save that energy for shit that actually matters. Halo Infinite is an incredible game. I haven't had this much drive to play a Halo game in a long time. I love the movement, I love the gunplay, I love everything about it. It's addictive as hell and competing again makes me feel like a young school girl again. However, it's got big time flaws. With this blog I am going to shed some light on the flaws I have seen from my experience. I'm not going to bring up things like "lag" because in my experience, I have not had too many issues with lags or crashes. Then again, I have gigabit internet and a pretty high-end PC. Humble fucking brag.
Ranked play is a shit show right now. You got people quitting, FOR FREE, every other match. Their are probably multiple reasons for this. The first and most prominent reason is because...people are pussies. The other reason is because since the population is so low now, now, Diamond and Platinum players are forced to play against Onyx player and that has to be rough and frustrating, therefore quitting happens. I don't think 343 expected how many people were going to hit onyx after the set that bar when the game initially released. Last time I looked onyx had just as many people in its population as the diamond population. This caused a bunch of problems because now you have Onyx 1500 players mixing it up with Onyx 2000 players it's just like my previous example. I honestly think their needs to be either MORE RANKS, OR you set the bar higher to get Onyx. Hackers, once again, in my 300+ hours of playing this game I have only encountered two blatant hackers. The hacking problem hasn't been bad over in the lower onyx levels, with that said I am very aware through streams and videos of the hacking issues in the upper levels of onyx. It's finally gotten to the point that 343 needs to address the issue. I literally couldn't care less how long an anti-cheat takes to make, as long as we have one coming. Once again, we do have a hacking problem, but the number of times I've seen on Twitter shit players screaming they are getting "hacked" to cover the fact that it's not them getting hacked on, it's just them are getting absolutely shitted on. We do have a hacking problem, but even worse is we have a witch hunt problem as well. Credit where credit is due, the maps are pretty good. I don't have a map that I absolutely dry heave when I see it being loaded in..... well, since Behemoth was removed from ranked. Yet, we need more maps. We currently play Aquarius, Live Fire, Streets, and Recharge. I think we need 2-4 more maps in the rotation just to keep things a bit spicier. I'm not against old maps returning, but we got to be smart about it and keep in mind this BR can beam from distance so maybe stray away from maps with 8,000 long lines of sight. Sorry Narrows. Viewership has always been an issue for Halo since the rise of...well...more games. Back in the mid-2000's if you had an Xbox 360, and wanted to compete in shooters, it was Halo, COD, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Gears of War. Halo was really the only game with the spotlight, sponsorships, and the cash so it was basically the only option if you wanted to do something long term. Fast forward to today, Rainbow Six now has a pro-league, Call of Duty is running a freaking 25 million dollar per team franchise, Gears of War sadly is on its last breath, but money is still there. Also, PCs are now stronger and more affordable than ever, so gamers have been making the switch and opening the door to the shit-ton of games they can dabble with on there. Halo shines as an esport, Halo pops when a highly skilled player is playing it. Halo has never been a game where you can be an "average" player with a great personality and expect to have a successful streaming career. I wish it wasn't that way, but it's just the culture of Halo. This causes low AVERAGE viewership, BUT and this is a huge but, when Halo is on LAN, played on a mainstage, in front of a hyped crowd, the right production team, and a good open format, It does super well like giant numbers. A lot like what we saw in HCS Raleigh. We just have to continue with having events and not having too much time between these events.
Days like today make me really love my job. In the last 24 hours, Batmayne, formally of Darkest Hour back in the Halo 3 days was accused of hacking by...Ewizz..Ewizzle...Eww...whatever he goes by on the Halo battlefield. Ewizz claimed that Batmayne was using walls and gave a bunch of clips that he called "evidence" to go with said claims. It really terrifies me that all it takes nowadays is my crosshair to pass by an x-ray outline of my opponent three/four times in a 15+ minute match to have my reputation completely fucking ruined by some clown who just can't look inward for losses. The clips are so laughable and in a court of law would not stick. One of the clips, was showing Batmayne spawning "A court", on Streets, alone. In this situation he placed his crosshair in a way that he was able to see tires, mid, and a bit of planters. The actual location of his crosshair looks odd to the untrained eye. The advantage to how Batmayne is playing is he is able to visually see three points attack on his screen at once, while not fully committing to one point, thus giving him time to swing his crosshair to whatever his opponent chooses to attack him from. I do not play this way. I normally choose an angle to hold based off call outs and "game sense" (doesn't always work). I would love to make a video or add more to this blog debunking everything that this clown posted, but who would have guessed, he deleted his original post after getting some pretty hefty backlash from the community. If Batmayne was truly petty and if these claims gained more traction, this could be a case of defamation of character. This is why you need to be 100% with these claims, and have evidence that's 100% undebatable. You clowns out there need to start taking this shit seriously and think a little bit before you post possibly career altering claims. I have ZERO pity for the heat Ewizzle is receiving right now, "You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes".
5) The Half Flip- Spoiler, this is probably the only defensive heavy move on this list. I say "defensive" because typically you need to whip this move out during what I call a "fuck up". The Half flip is used to go in the opposite direction of where you were initially heading, WITHOUT having to do a FULL U-TURN with your rocket powered battle car. The way this works is by canceling your backflip, air rolling left/right so your wheels point to the ground, landing, and finally, getting back to the play quickly. 4) The Flick- This mechanic is one of the first handful of mechanics you will learn when starting to play Rocket League. The flick opens you to so many options. The flick for those who don't know, is when you are dribbling the ball on top of your car, and with a well-timed flip catapults the ball in the air. When you get really good at dribbling you can position the ball on your car in such a way that you can flick the ball where it just line drives towards your target (hopefully the net). You can flick the ball to get by a defender, flick the ball towards the backboard possibly get the read and dunk on some nerds, you can even pass the ball with a flick. This mechanic gives you options, and in Rocket League the more options you have offensively, the worse it is to defend against. 3) The Dribble (Top of Car/Ground)- Coming off the flick and as important as it is you can't flick without a solid dribble game. The dribble is the paint brush for the mind game canvas. When you dribble you can do a lot to mess with a defender's mind. When you are given space and are on a dribble the defender has to think about a lot when it comes to what you plan on doing with this dribble. "Are they going to flick?", "Are they going to fake?", or even worse and sometimes the most effective "are they going to do nothing?". What's nice about having a good dribble in your arsenal is that you can even pull off the next mechanic on our list. 2) The Air Dribble- Probably one of the coolest mechanics and at the core of many other mechanics, the air dribble comes in at number four. The air dribble has been built upon and pushed throughout the years. If you look at the famous Over Zero air dribble goal back in RLCS season one and compare it to what Jstn or Squishy do now, it's like looking at two completely different games. The Air dribble effectiveness really depends on one's mechanical abilities and to be honest how much boost you have when you are in the air. If you got the boost, and the mechanics, the possibilities are endless. On the contrary, the air dribble struggles a ton when one is boostless. That's because since a player falls from the sky (gravity) at a consistent rate the path back to the ground is already determined. It's easy to predict and plan for the next move if you are the defending player. 1) The Flip Reset- This is by far the best and most impactful mechanic since people got good with Air Dribbling. The crazy thing about the flip reset is that delayed flip potential. When you get all four wheels on that ball and you have that reset locked and loaded, you can use that flip whenever you want (until you hit the ground obviously). This means the defender actually has to guess/read if A) you even got the reset. B) when are you going to use the flip. C) Will this person shoot, pass, or whiff with the flip reset. God knows, as soon as you show them you know how to flip reset they are going to be plaquing their minds with these questions. The opponents either have to speed up and try to beat you in the air before you can even get the reset (which could cause other mistake like double commits, cut rotations, over extensions, etc). On the other hand, they could also play scared and give you even more time to use your flip. It is a pretty hard mechanic to figure out. I've been doing it for a decent amount of time now and the hardest part of it was learning to fly while upside down. I suggest going into training mode and just fly around the map while upside down for a bit. Once you figure it out it does become pretty natural. Like the title states your boy got Grand Champ again, this time on stream. So that was cool. However, it still feels dirty. Not to sound like a fucking tool, but I felt like it was effortless this go round, and I 100% solo queued this bitch. The goal post has been moved so far back since the SSL rank has been implemented that it's just not satisfying or fulfilling any more. The chat and friends say, "congrats on GC", but I'd be lying if GC meant what it used to. Let me put it to scale for you. When I was going hard, and Rocket League was my main focus, I hit a wall at about low to mid Champ 3. The changes happened the following season and boom Grand Champ. Shit is kind of a joke now, I'm playing GC lobbies where people have no thumb, no brain, no flawless jaw lines. These plebs should be with me, the real me, in Champ 3/2. I'm just venting. If you are happy with your GC rank that's awesome. I'm a GC but it feels so flawed, so handed out, so fake.
I'm a competitor, I'm a Halo AND Rocket League God...no disputing that. Even for this gaming specimen I need a little break from the constant grind that is staying on top of my craft. Last week I went through the Steam store and was seeing my recommended games. After trudging through all the hentai recommendations, I stumbled upon this game Gunfire Reborn. It was being described as a "Rouge-like" Borderlands meets Risk of Rain first person shooter. After playing basically 8 hours of the game it's safe to say they summed it up perfectly. I find the gameplay super addictive. The game is at it's most enjoyable when you are playing co-op, however the single player experience is challenging, but not bad AT ALL. I use the single player to just get more "soul essence" which is used at the end of your run to permanently increase certain skills for the character of you choice. Each character has its own special abilities AND WEAKNESSES which are super important when deciding on the strategy of your run. The weaponry is also very very in-depth. This game may not have as many physical guns as say, your typical Borderlands game, but here is the interesting part. Say you pick up a green pistol, you kill an enemy and he drops a green pistol. From your first look it's the same gun....NOT THE CASE. Be sure to walk up to that gun and compare your weapons. For example, the gun you have in your hand does Critical Damage X2, but the one you are looking at on the ground does Critical Damage x3 AND it does a bleeding effect to enemies, which is very nice against the bosses at the end of each level. For a $12.00 game, there is so much to make each run of the game different and interesting. I didn't even get to scrolls and even CURSES if you want to be even more ballsy. VERDICT, Buy the game regardless if the game visually looks like a Furries Valhalla.
