Do you guys remember when I was Champion 3 Division 4? Yea things were looking pretty damn good for us. Sadly all things have to come to an end. I am not sure about the actual length of this past season, but it felt like a solid 4-5 months. Very long. The length of the season was definitely do to Psyonix getting the game ready for free to play. Which by the way FREE TO PLAY IS FINALLY HERE! Since the release of F2P every avenue of this game has been impacted greatly. From views, clicks, follows, and most importantly players baby! At one point Rocket League had more than 1 million concurrent players. MONSTER NUMBERS! I'm not going to lie overall I am a fan of this update, but my placements has been an absolute white trash, cocaine propelled, mosh pit. Every ONE of my placements felt like I had to run a damn marathon. I thought felt my MMR was high enough that I wouldn't be partnered up with the newer players, but I don't know guys. It felt like I had to have 6 goals, 4 assist, 8 saves, and 1100 points just to even be close to victory. And don't get me wrong, I WILL always be the first person to raise my hand up when I play poorly, but I have been playing PERFECT ROCKET LEAGUE for a solid month now...so I don't know what to tell you. After being disconnected from my first 3 match and winning 6 of my remaining 7 match I got placed in C1 Div 4. A slap in the face. I don't mind, it'll just make my run to 2000 MMR look that much more historic when I get there! Let's get this bread and WELCOME to all the new players....unless you're a new player that gets in my way.

Many of you think I am an RLCS GOD. Many of you think my knowledge of Rocket League is underrated, underappreciated, and unmatched. Even with all of the fans putting me on such a high pedestal I will ADMIT shit was a little wonky for me and my bracket. I really need to stop acting surprise and just accept that at this point with more teams getting in the mix and playing higher tier teams, the more unpredictable this god damn scene will be. The only thing that saved me with my bracket was that my OVERALL winner of NRG held strong and boy did they look good. BUT BUT BUT how will NRG play in 2-3 weeks because it seems that every couple weeks the top 3 or 4 just flip flops. SSG was looking like the number one team, then G2 was sitting on SSG's faces for a bit, NOW NRG is king again. I'm going to need to eat my Wheaties for the next EU weekend.
Not to brag, but I finally had time to watch the European region and in the first hour of watching I got drops baby!!! THREE of those sons of bitches INCLUDING the "Splash" goal explosion...FINALLY. This blog is not about MY GREAT luck and YOUR jealousy, but more about the unreal body count that the BDS boys had over the weekend. I started watching the Vitality match (semi finals) and the first two games went in favor of Vitality which I expected. Vitality was playing pretty text book high tempo Rocket League and this was what played a big factor in their success... sadly their short success. By Game 3 BDS countered Vitality's speed with MORE speed, which is kind of a rarity to see in high level. Most teams when being out paced will play at a slower tempo and bank on speed backfiring and creating mistakes, that was not the case. It felt like BDS won every challenge since that game ON. The FINALS were free as hell, Marc offensively stellar for BDS while at the same time Monkey Moon was just a wall on defense. BDS looked solid and proved that they are not a fluke and are one hundred percent here to stay. My only worry is if BDS is what I like to call a "strict role team". If Marc isn't being that savage offensive role can someone on that team step up and help the continued success of this squad. Only time will tell.
Congrats to BDS on another W. Bigger Congrats on being UNDENIABLE. |
