Today was the North Amercan Rocket League Championship Series Regional Finals (EU Regionals will be tomorrow March 29th) and because of that pussy COVID-19 ruining the grand finale of Worlds, this would be, in essence, the "for all the marbles" tournament to conclude this season. Rizzo and the boys took home a well deserved win against an oddly terrible SSG in the grand finals which made them the North American Champions! Congrats to Jknaps, Chicago, Rizzo and the G2 organization for completely turning this squad around from the disaster that was season 8. However, this blog isn't about G2's tear through this bracket. This blog is going to be about some DELICIOUS toxicity that was shot at Torment of Cloud9 via Twitter after the boys and blue were absolutely slapped by a red hot Ghost Gaming. After the loss Torment went to Twitter to express how disappointed he was with how he performed. In the beginning weeks of league play many (including myself) pointed the finger at Torment for C9's early struggles. As of late though the man has been playing extremely well and has shown consistent improvement and was a major factor in the positive turn around of this team. Despite all this, the trolls came out to play and responded with some dumb, yet very entertaining shit, so I screen captured them of course to display the stupidity.

When you think of the "Pinnacle" of First Person Shooters what comes to your mind first? Probably CS:GO and rightfully so. The game is a competitive masterpiece. CS:GO is the perfect cocktail of individual skill, creativity, and team play. With that being said what if I told you there has been a game franchise out for more than 20 years and it takes what you know and love about CS:GO (well..mostly) and amp's it up by a THOUSAND PERCENT. I'm talking Quake people! More specifically the latest Quake game Quake Champions. In my opinion this game is the "climbing Mount Everest" of FPS. It's going to test ALL your abilities as a gamer. Many of the weapons you use in Quake have a different technique of aiming you are going to need to execute in order to use the weapon effectively. For example, the Machine Gun and Lightning Gun is going to test your tracking skills which is the ability of keeping your cross-hair on an opponent for a long period of time while they are trying to avoid your shots. The Nail/Plasma gun and Rocket Launcher has a more damaging projectile, but a slower moving projectile. This is where your going to have to lead your target in order to get hits. Leading your shots is simply the act of aiming and firing ahead a moving target to get the hit. Its like when a quarterback throws a football ahead of a receiver in the hopes the receiver and the ball will met at the same point. The Rail gun is a pure flick/sniping weapon which everyone has had played with at some point in other FPS games so I will not dive too deep into that. Keeping track of weapons spawns and powers ups is another MUST in order to get W's in this game. Some of you console players may find this familiar because the Halo franchise adapted this is into their games as well. Quake also has a pretty high skill ceiling when it comes to the movement. It's hard to explain in words, but if any of you have played Counter Strike, Half-Life, or old school Valve developed game their is a technique to move faster known as bunny/strafe hopping. I'm not even going to try to explain it so there is a video below. Guys, I can go ON, and ON, about this game, and I am against long ass blogs, so I need to wrap it up, but go get this game. I believe it's FREE as of now on Steam and let me know on Twitter (@TheNicktac) how hard you're getting bopped cause...you will for a few games. It's that time of year! It's that time of year where you go on Twitter and all you see is people tweeting "this is the season", that time of year where placements matches feel as though they have tournament money on the line, and it's that time of year where Grand Champs say how easy it is to get back to Grand Champ because even a bad placement would be a Champion 3 Div 2. Or you can be me, a KNOWN Rocket League Solo- Queue God who was DISRESPECTED by Psyonix yesterday when they placed me Champ 1 Division 4 in both 2's and 3's. The fuck? At least give me the Champ 2 off the rip. Whatever, I'll get Champ 3 this season, take a screenshot, lose it, and just tell people I'm Champ 3 (Should be Grand Champ obviously my play is nuts).
Just throwing this out there, but I am EXTREMELY PRO-Hard Resets EVERY Season. I do understand the Pro's and Con's of doing hard resets, but I think if you are truly a great Rocket League player, especially a Grand Champ, you should be able to handle the hell hole that is Low/Mid Diamond matches.
With everything coming to a halt do to the Coronavirus "Pandemic" so has this season of Formula 1 racing. However, What the people behind the scenes has done is something I have yet to see and I sincerely think is one of the best examples of taking a shitty situation and doing your best to give the fans SOMETHING to enjoy. Formula 1 announced the "The Virtual Grand Prix" which takes REAL F1 Drivers and stacks them up against already established F1 Esport Drivers and other notable personalities such as Sadokist, Redeye, Jimmy Broadbent and many others. I have been following SIM Racing for a while, but as stated before I have never seen a league just say "we postponed the real racing, but WE DO have a pretty damn good video game (F1 2019) we could use". I'm grateful they went this route because the race today was like watching a blank canvas get painted with pure CHAOS....well for the first couple laps then things started to settle down, but it makes sense if you think about it. You got a third of the pack that has very little racing experience and all of these racers have ZERO FUCKS about damaging (if they were real) seven figure machines. I really like what I saw and can't wait to see more races while the world continues to stands still. The ONLY issue I have as a spectator is that they need to either make the one race they air LONGER (more laps) or ADD one or two more races a stream. Even with this slight nit pick the show was fantastic to watch. The desk was plentiful when it came to talent. They seemed to be able to handle anything that was thrown at them and I just want to give them and the rest of the behind the scenes crew a big shout out. The first show was great and it can only get better from here. ONCE again....MORE RACES!
Follow Twitch.tv/Formula1 for MORE! We try not to dabble with REAL sports on this site, but we are a New England based company after all and with that comes New England Sports fandom so deal with it! Yesterday I was working my last day of work before my two week CoronaCation. During my 15 minute break which I normally use to catch up on fan messages and business emails I was having to use this time to catch my heart which was throttled out of my asshole when I read my hero Tom Brady was unable to reach an agreement with Robert Kraft and the Patriots and would NOT be returning to us this coming NFL Season. This completely sucks ass, I thought the man would of played two more seasons, get one more ring and retired a Patriot. That obviously is not going to be the case. I do wish the Patriots would of paid the man, but I see both perspectives on this. The Patriots don't want to overpay an "end of their career" quarterback and Brady deservingly believes he is worth more than they are offering. Nonetheless all great things come to an end. I can not express how grateful I am to have lived to see this man play. I will never forget where I was when Drew Bledsoe got hurt against the Jets and this tall and lanky guy came out to play back up. Never thought that the man taking the field that day would win us that game, go on to win us our FIRST Superbowl, THEN go on to win FIVE MORE, and become THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. I love that he never settled down when most quarterbacks after winning ONE Superbowl would have went that route, but even after Six Superbowl wins he still played the game like he was fighting to prove something. Though I am even more saddened that he went to a pretty terrible Tampa Bay Buccaneers team I can not wait to see what he does for that team. Thank you Tom Brady for the incredible run and I hope you sign one of those corny one day contracts as a Patriot so you can retire where you belong....home. My Top 5 Tom Brady Moments
Yesterday was an outright treat for Rocket League fans. With that pussy of a sickness, Coronavirus shutting down OUR World Championships it is pretty tough to keep non-diehard viewers super focused on Rocket League during the remainder of this season of league play. However, Cloud9 decided to shake things up with a complete turn around in performance. Going from RLRS jokes to becoming a legitimate threat to the big donged teams of the NA RLCS. Cloud9 started this season 1-3 which made things look REAL grim for the future of this historic squad. They looked sloppy, unorganized, and played like a poopy filled diaper. THAT was the Cloud9 of the past, somehow the boys in blue are now 4-4 and look well.....non-poopy. This bounce back includes a 3-0 sweep of the defending World Champions NRG, a 3-0 sweep against an "on paper equally matched" Ghost Gaming, but the most important and LEGENDARY "W" has to be the Reverse Sweep, Game 5 OVERTIME victory against Soniqs WITH FIREBURNER! That's right my loyal readers their COACH! After a disconnect from Torment at the end of Game 4 Fireburner, a former RLCS player, and Coach of Cloud9 subbed in to play in Game 5. THE MAN scored both goals for Cloud9. One of those goals being the overtime game winner that completed the reverse sweep. Fireburner has not seen competitive RLCS play in two seasons (if I'm not mistaken) and impressively kept up with the speed of this constantly changing game and looked more mechanical then he ever has. The man is a beast. One of the best moment in RLCS history and is a must watch if you have not laid eyes on such a great piece of Rocket League action. Also the Torment dropped for Fireburner meme's were glorious .
The Twitch Gods have BLESSED us with some juicy clips. First Clip comes from a pretty intoxicated and all around fucking IDIOT Carl Riemer who I imagined didn't TRULY understand how a magazine works in a firearm. In this clip Carl grabs his what I believe is a Glock .40 which stupidly is just hanging on his desk, proceeds to drunkenly ask about some currency, cocks the slide back to release a unfired round from the chamber not realizing ANOTHER round has just slide into the chamber, and pulls the trigger. The bullet burst through the trick shooters nectar aka GFUEL and apparently destroyed a one thousand dollar monitor. LUCKILY no one was hurt (other than Carl's Stream and Wallet) and we can enjoy the content that this has created. Do I have pity for this cliche cut and paste Call of Duty Trick Shooting fuck boy? Nope. But you bet your ass there is an apology video with said clip included so give that a gander (found below) to get the story from the idiots point of view. This second clip is short, sweet, and full of revenge. Alinity is a pretty big streamer, known for odd interactions with her animals. Ranging from chucking her cat off a desk (I don't condone this act, but I will say people blew this WAY out of proportion), Seemingly allowing her dog to just shove it's nose all up in that ass WAY too long before acting upon removing said nose out of the asshole. These clips can be found on Youtube. I will not be posting them on here because they give me the heebs. The clip I will be showing you is an automatic CLASSIC. The clip starts with Alintiy singing (poorly) a godlike Aerosmith song and as this questionable animal owner begins to really SINK HER TEETH into this song her cat leaps from the bottom left of the screen and chomps on her arm. When I say "Chomp" I mean this small beast managed a HUGE mouthful of skin. Her reaction is the look of PURE BETRAYAL and it's absolutely fantastic! "At Psyonix, we take the safety of our competitive players, fans, and personnel very seriously. Due to worldwide health concerns surrounding the developing situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are cancelling the Rocket League Season 9 World Championship live event as scheduled from April 24-26 in Dallas, Texas. We understand that this is frustrating, but health and safety will always be our top priority."
https://www.rocketleagueesports.com/news/important-rocket-league-esports-update/ Dear Coronavirus, I really want to fight/tombstone you, I believe you are an OVERHYPED and WEAK ASS virus that BULLIES on mostly old people. PUSSY move by the way. Pretty sure my PC's hard drive contains stronger viruses than you could ever wish to be (shout out to porn). Today you forced Psyonix to take action and cancel the Season 9 RLCS World Championship in Dallas. I am semi-certain that we will still see a LAN for the Championship some way some how. Maybe Psyonix will invite the qualifying teams/players to a small LAN and that could be our championship, BUT we still hit that issue of traveling ESPECIALLY for OCE, SAM, and EU players. I don't know....I'm pissed. How are we going to see Turbo get his 5th championship? How are we suppose to get together to watch the greatest esport on this planet? Can Discord handle 100,000+ people in a single voice channel? Why am I not Grand Champ yet? SO many questions! Regardless I have faith that Psyonix will figure something out and deliver something good for us no matter what that virus named after a shitty beer tries to do. THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE! |
