After a long and hard day of physical labor and managing morons I got out of my disgusting work clothes and popped on my signature SpongeBob pajamas in order to prepare for my handful of hours that consist of gaming, content creating, and working on this GODLIKE website. Just as I'm about to get cracking on my virtual "to-do" list, I noticed Radthar was streaming the Summer Update Stream put on by Rogue Company Devs. I am always interested in his opinions on Rogue Company even if I don't agree with what he has to say entirely. With that, I got my popcorn, watched what the developers brought to the table, and tuned in to hear what Radthar had to say. I'm not going to go SUPER in-depth about each aspect of the Summer Update. I'm just going to give my short thoughts on certain parts of this update. Radthar did an amazing job on covering this update from top to bottom and that video WILL be plugged on the TOP of this blog. Give him some love. Reticle Adjustment- Love the idea of being able to customize your crosshair. We see it a lot in other GIANT games like CSGO, Valorant, Overwatch, Quake, etc. I remember when I played CSGO and I wanted to have the same crosshair as the pro player ScreaM. It's the esports equivalent of buying the same shoes as your favorite basketball player. Hopefully, we'll see people mimic their favorite Rogue Company players....aka ME. New Skins/New Rouges- We have 2 new Rouges coming this season. No info so far on what these characters bring to the table yet. New "Summer" themed Skins are coming as well, but HONESTLY who the fuck cares. These characters feel generic, bland, and lack soul. Therefore, the skins for these characters are hard for me to pull the trigger on. And that's coming from a guy whos spent HUNDREDS of dollars on Rocket League and Counter Strike skins. Yeah I know I'm pathetic. Team Deathmatch- I'm going to sound like a complete asshole, but this game mode should of been here on release. How we got Extraction instead baffles me. REGARDLESS, TDM is here. Love the 50 kill limit, very Halo-like. I don't see myself playing too much TDM, but if someone was too intimidated to play this game before maybe the introduction of TDM will help push them to try this game out again. Esports?- Who would of thought still nothing on their plans for the few, yet CRUCIAL people that are absolutely pouring hours, upon hours into this game TRYING to make this game their job or some form of income. Esports has a HUGE impact on a games success and longevity. Right now, it's almost impossible to know who the best players and teams are. UNLESS, you do a some deep diving on Twitch, Twitter, etc. Deep diving the average person wouldn't want to do. Personalities push games to be successful. HISTORICALLY personalities like Nickmercs, TimTheTatMan, Summit, etc have come from dabbling with the esports side of their game. Casual or Competitive people want to see what HIGH LEVEL Rogue Company looks like. Let's get on it!

Today is the the LAST day of the Stage 3 Major and THE LAST TIME we see a Major played ONLINE! We got a Sunday filled with an OpTic team playing like a completely different squad, Old man Clayster and company not missing, Ultra is playing perfect Call of Duty, and Faze HAS to be hungry for revenge after being upset by NYSL in the Winners Final. Yes, if you are keeping track at home New York is waiting patiently in the finals of a god damn major. The day is packed with awesome match ups and I'm not trying to sound like those corny ass CDL commentators it's legitimately going to be insane and with OpTic still in the picture COD fans will have a glow to them when they notice the viewership will be chilling at the 70k-100k margin.
I know what you guys want. You guys want me to make predictions. You guys want me to put it all out there so if I'm wrong you guys can troll me on Twitter. Not going to happen because I AM GOING to nail this! It's going to be FAZE and NYSL once again meeting IN THE FINALS. This time though, Faze will take it. Sorry Clay. The ACTION begins with Ultra vs. OpTic at 3pm EST on YouTube.com/CODLeague
In a completely shocking move, Huke has been picked up by 100 Thieves after being benched last week by the Dallas Empire. The LA Thieves have finally started turning their CDL season around and playing very well even with a struggling TJHaly (who is now benched). After a probably savage payout, Huke has made LA a TERRIFYING team to go up against. For a second their Twitter was making rumbles of Huke going to Florida and personally, I thought that would have been a terrible career move to him and I am glad that things turned out the way they did for him. I can't wait to see how well he is going to mesh with a player like Kenny. I smell a delicious duo, a duo that needs a nickname for sure at some point. I also got this good feeling about some nice viewership numbers when Dallas Empire goes up against LA Thieves for the first time since the roster moves. Oh my lord, what a day for Call of Duty.
I was always curious about what the competitive side of Fortnite looked like. The game that has been killing it since it's launch so it MUST be quite the watch. What I saw on display was something very few human beings get to see. It was beautiful, as if I saw a rare event happening in the cosmos. Nah I'm playing. It was dog shit.
I don't think I should have been shocked. The game itself doesn't really cater to being a very good viewing experience. If you were watching the FNCS you were blessed with a ton of free camera as you observe literally 100 player names dance across the map. We never actually jumped onto someone's POV until the storm forced 6 teams to just mosh pit into each other and pure chaos ensued. Also these commentators were something...special. It was as if the production teams for "Dora the Explorer" and "Blue Clues" had a heroine induced orgy and the 8 ladies that partaken in this act had children and these children decided to commentate Fortnite. I'm sure it wasn't their fault. I have a gut feeling their bosses wanted them to speak to the viewers as if they are talking to 8 year olds. I know Fortnite viewers are young, but goddamn! I have been saying this for years now. Fortnite is the WWE of gaming entertainment. They need to embrace it and stop trying to make it something that it's not, a legitimate esport. The game is shit to watch when you try to incorporate the typical viewing experience. Epic Games, listen to me, stop streaming the tournaments from an observer mode. Try funneling in other Fortnite personalities/pro player POV's from their personal streams. Just like how Twitch Rivals does it. It would make the game MORE interesting AND it'll probably save you a shit ton of money. I'm a genius I know. I also DO NOT WANT CREDIT for my genius. |
