Let's set the stage in a short and sweet manner because I got to go in on some of you OVERLY SENSITIVE BABOONS. Beyond Entertainment ran a 1v1 tournament Tuesday night, I believe. The match was Chronic vs FirstKiller both extremely talented and well known 1's players. The two commentators for this match started awkwardly talking about Chronic's very young age, his parents being mad for his staying up late, and dumb shit like that. It literally was just filler commentary and nothing more; all these guys were trying to do (poorly) was comedically say how the lateness of this tournament would effect someone in Chronic's age range.
Simple. Right? Come on we aren't that big of pussies right? Well, I guess I was completely wrong. Rocket League Twitter and Reddit went Banana Land on these commentators accusing these dudes of bullying Chronic. Therefore demanding an apology from Beyond Entertainment. Come the fuck on guys. If Chronic went on a public forum and stated that the shit said by Beyond was upsetting then maybe we have something to discuss. I would still side with it being a non-issue and if it were, Chronic should grow some thinker skin, but once again from my research he had nothing to say about it. What should of happened here was: we cringe at it for about 5 seconds and proceed to move the fuck on with our beautiful day.

I heard about the Gears Pro League ONCE and it was on a podcast (shout out to "Changing Gears" check them out). Nothing from the developers and granted I don't follow much for Gears Twitter, but NOTHING appeared on my timeline unless a pro tweeted out their matches. I am completely aware that Gears has never received the numbers or attention that other games receive, but to be neglected by your own developers is a fucking tragedy. The community may be small; still they buy and show passion for your product and should be acknowledge in some way.
I feel as a man of honor and integrity I got to give the guys over at The Coalition some pointers. First pointer, the Pro League is a HUGE opportunity to introduce Gears to new people. ADVERTISE! Not sure what your budget is (pretty sure it's not an issue) but make a god damn 30 second Twitch ad (I might actually not skip that one). Second pointer, this kind of goes with the first. CLIP and SHARE hype shit! Gears has some pretty hype moments, be sure to clip them. Tweet these clips with the link to the stream. This makes people feel like they have missed something godlike. Having that link right there entices someone to click that link so they don't miss something else. Third Pointer, this is probably not a quick fix, but can we PLEASE find some way to speed up the weapon placements stage of these escalations matches. It's a complete flow killer. I am totally aware of the strategy that goes into it, but in each round we get two or so minutes of pure action just to have us stare at a mini-map for 45 seconds in between these rounds. The commentators do a great job to try to keep it interesting, however they can only do so much. Just want to say even though you guys over at TC/Microsoft fumbled the ball here, I got faith in you. I may not be a "Gears Guy", but I will always have a soft spot for this franchise and I want to see the Pro League blow up. MAKE IT BLOW UP!
I am not as big of a Call of Duty fanatic as I was 7 years ago, but I have a clip like this and I NEVER got any love from the OpTic Gaming Twitter. Don't get me wrong I know Dashy is one of the best shots in Call of Duty, but this play is NOT at all impressive. I am telling you, during this stream he probably had 50 plays better than this one. I wish I was there when Dashy saw this on his timeline and face palmed for good reasons. This STINKS! To whoever decided to put their vape down to tweet this I beg you to re-calibrate your "play gauge" cause that shit is B-R-O-K-E. I have been very very excited for this off season. The off season bringing roster changes and with roster changes comes super fun speculations to make. If you guys have been living under a boost pad then you haven't heard that the Season 7 RLCS World Championship MVP was dropped by Vitality. That's right. Scrub has been dropped from RV. Scrub on his stream, announced that he was no longer on RV, that wasn't the crazy part. The crazy part comes from what he said later in his stream when he stated that the language barrier was the reason for him being dropped. I personally believe there has to be more to the story. I don't know how you go from winning Season 7 Worlds to BARELY losing and placing second at Season 8 Worlds (literally one goal was the difference) and you just drop the player that arguably was a major factor to your success. So with RV dropping Scrub we now got questions. Where is he going? Who will take his place? I am an expert in this field so I'm going to hit you with some serious knowledge. That knowledge being I got not a single fucking clue. I am hearing from sources that Scrub could end up on Mouse. Speed, Kuxir, and Scrub on a team has the potential to be a team that just shits down other team throats. Imagine the first time RV plays Mouse? That shit would be so delicious. The other question was, who will replace Scrub? Once again the rumor is Alpha54. Formally on TSM I think RV would take a slight hit if they take Alpha. Not saying that he is not a great RL player I just believe that he is not a very consistent player. He DOES have the ability of Scrub, but that ability doesn't seem to come out as often as I'd like to see it. Who knows, when teaming with GOATS like Fairy and Kaydop he should be able to learn a ton from them and become more consistent.
Let me set the stage, even though I'm sure you Rocket League players know exactly what I am talking about. Your team has been in sync (Justin Timberlake for the win!) for the whole 5 minutes of regulation time. Even with the game being tied the rotations are good, you and the squad are not whiffing, and most importantly sending balls on net. However, overtime in Rocket League is a completely different animal. Shots that you normally do with pure muscle memory go right out the window because your brain is trying to over think them. The team goes quiet or you are now trying too much to get in your teammates brain to predict what they might do next....or as seen in this clip.....pure hell braking loose.
I got to say the best part of the clip is that it truly displays the best in comedic timing with the soon-to-be famous quote "We'll figure this out" MOMENTS before disaster. These moments are what I live for to be honest. Appreciate all that came in and hung on the stream. I will be LIVE again tomorrow (10/29) between 4-430PM EST. Hope to see you maniacs there. NRG wins while not giving a single fuck. G2 makes Ghost Gaming look GODLIKE. What is this WEEK!?10/26/2019
It was another odd and confusing week of RLCS. I guess I shouldn't be surprised and just accept that this is the way things will probably go until Worlds shows up. Things started out in reality with Spacestation gaming taking the series in a close 5 game series against Ghost. This puts SSG in 3rd place in the standings aka what? NRG finally put a stop to the Knights reign of terror, but like the match previously, ONLY BARELY. Another 5 game series to add to the drama of the day. Knights played extremely well and in my eyes they officially solidified themselves as part of the BIG 3. Sorry Squishy, you're the mechanical wizard beast from the depths of free play, but you guys are making like Spider-man at the end of "Infinity War". Find the Gauntlet DAMN IT! Next match was G2 vs Ghost Gaming and in one of the most insane upsets of the season (well on paper) Ghost Gaming slaughtered them. G2 looked lost, whiffed like a bunch of golds, and double committed like neanderthals. These guys have way too much talent to be playing like this and at this point in league play it's officially crunch time. What is so frustrating about G2 is the issues they have are 100% fixable. Let's just hope the fixes to the team get done and things start righting themselves quickly.
Birds vs Knights was....who would of thought.....a nail biting Game 5 reverse sweep victory for the Knights. Nothing really to discuss here other than Knights were just getting out paced games 1 and 2, but in the later games Knights flipped the script and went full Sonic on their asses. Something to note though was the Birds ability to just send passes very accurately and fast to each other. It was like watching Rocket League porn....but not really. Don't go googling that please. I don't care if that's a thing. The dumpster fire known as Rogue got 3-0'd by SSG nothing new to report on that cause....it's Rogue. Let us pray....God, please give Kronovi a top 4 contending team next year. Amen. Finally, Cloud 9 played the guaranteed World Championship attending NRG. When I tell you NRG played without a single fuck given I am not lying to you beautiful people. NRG was down 2 goals in game 1 didn't really switch anything up that entire game and still came back to win it in OT. NRG was playing half court the WHOLE series just cutting into C9's clearing attempts. On top of that Turbo was just in the best spot every time the ball was in front of C9's net. A pretty bad look for Cloud9. Such a bad look it wouldn't be a surprise to me to see them in the RLRS. HOLY FUCK. Think about that, Rouge and Cloud 9 if they keep this up and lose in relegation's become RLRS teams. Kronovi and Squishy.....RLRS PLAYERS!? They won't let that happen...would they? The clip below is for those RLCS teams that need motivation. You are all welcome a head of time. I am very against giving reviews without playing a multiplayer game for at least a week. HOWEVER....I just got done playing Modern Warfare for about three hours and let me say.... the game feels ok. Moving around feels very close to clunky but not quite. I like the gun play even with the fact that I have not unlocked much (but tomorrow is another day). What I have found from playing is you get extremely punished for sprinting out of spawn so I find myself left triggering a TON and I'm not too big of a fan of that. The INSANELY fast kill time is definitely a factor to why that is. This kill time is also a major factor as to why the game feels slow. EVEN with the nuttiness that is happening on the maps the size of states, I'm still finding myself being semi-tactical and methodical just to move forward towards objectives. This is for sure a different kind of COD game and I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing yet. I will dive more into this game and give my final opinion in about a week or two. Until then keep gaming and be a god damn adult and use the Famas.
As I write this blog we have an hour and a half until we are able to play Modern Warfare. I don't normally buy COD games on release, but for some reason I felt different about this COD game. Is it because I think this is going to be a good addition to the COD series? I actually don't have a complete opinion of it yet even with the hours of game-play I have been watching from Pros and Personalities streaming it today. From the eye test it looks fun to play, but ALMOST boring to watch. With the Call of Duty League sprinting at us I hope the league has ways to spice up the game from a production and story-line stand point. Anyways, I am a bit excited to turn on the old Xbox since the release of Gears 5 (I'll blog about that game at one point). I just want my old 2007 COD community back. Back to the days where pre and post game lobbies were just filled with LEGIT trash talk, screaming, and the occasional kid that says racist shit when they have no idea what they are actually saying. Those were the days. Now it's 2019 I'm pretty sure we aren't going to see much of 2007 peeping in, who knows, maybe I'll be wrong.
On last nights stream I was put in my place VICIOUSLY. It was a RANDOM ATTACK by someone I say "I love you" to every single day. I want to thank all who reached out to ask if The King of Content (...me) was alright.
I AM. I AM BETTER. I AM STRONGER. And I will be ready for the next attack that she decides to throw my way.
If you know me, you know I got beef with "small streamers"... well on Twitter. Now as a small streamer let me tell you something. If you just bought a $1200 PC just to make it big on a streaming platform and after 3 weeks of streaming you are absolutely shook or feel cheated because you aren't pulling in more than 5 viewers and haven't hit 1,000 followers you are a complete ass-head. I have never seen such entitled fools on twitter as these small streamers. "Let's spread the viewers around #SupportSmallStreamers" my response...why? Are you good at the game you are playing? Are you a funny person? Do you interact with your viewers? Just because you THINK you are the next big thing DOES NOT mean you are. The big streamers that "monopolize" these platforms have been doing it for a long time and have WORKED their asses off to get where they are. Are there exceptions? Sure. Maybe 15 percent of the bigger names didn't work as hard as others have, but my point is just because you threw some money around and think streaming your boring ass content for three hours ONCE a week is going to make you the next Ninja you are soo sooo soooooo mistaken.
I streamed before it made me money and if it stopped making me money I'd STILL be streaming. I'm not a #SmallStreamer I am #ThePeoplesStreamer. |
